Today, Detroit’s indie artist Jax Anderson (FKA Flint Eastwood) releases two new tracks; “Good Day” which features MisterWives and rising rapper Curtis Roach, PLUS “The Wake Up Call” via Neon Gold Records. If “Good Day” rings familiar - like an ice cream truck bell for instance - the joyous song is currently featured on the Halo Top TV ad HERE with over 2 million views on YouTube.
HOPEFUL is the first installment of Songs for Every Condition which will consist of five emotional states. Jax will release double singles for HEARTBROKEN, HAPPINESS, ANGST and finally, TRANSITION, over the course of the next five months resulting in the album Songs For Every Condition (release date tbc), which will be scattered by incredible features from Jax’ longtime and new friends.
About the upcoming concept album, Jax Anderson says: “Life happens in ways that are unpredictable & beautiful & everything/nothing all at once. There are so many moments to notice & feelings to cherish. A moment that happens when you're happy, may feel different when your condition changes to sad or excited or healing or heartbroken or joyful. Life changes constantly - to me the soundtrack of life feels more like a playlist than an album.
Songs For Every Condition was inspired by the different conditions of life. I didn't force myself into a certain soundscape or to stick to a certain genre, but instead allowed the music to be inspired by the different conditions I was in at the time. What came out was a wonderful variety of honest songs.”
Jax Anderson, who changed from her Flint Eastwood moniker to her real name, has built a reputation for writing alt-pop anthems that boldly speak to overcoming the forces in the world that try and keep us from loving ourselves and actualizing our full potential. She recently released the track “I Don’t Care Anymore” with K.Flay HERE, with the accompanying music video HERE. Learn more about Jax in Paper Magazine HERE and in Clash HERE. She has had two US headlining tours as well as national tours supporting Bishop Briggs, Miya Folick, PVRIS, Misterwives, & Poppy. In addition, she has toured Europe and Australia supporting Foster The People and Sigrid, and played festivals around the world including Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Sasquatch, Summerfest, Falls Fest, Les Escales, and more.
New York-based indie-pop group MisterWives fronted by Mandy Lee, has an extensive touring background supporting everyone from Panic! At the Disco to TwentyOne Pilots. With two Alternative Radio chart hits, including “Our Own House” under their belt, they released their third album, SUPERBLOOM in 2020 on Fueled By Ramen.
Fellow Detroit native Curtis Roach posted a 15-second video to TikTok in March 2020 and created the quarantine anthem across the world called "Bored in The House." Over the past year it has received over 47 million views on TikTok and catapulted his music career. The clip gained the attention of rapper Tyga, who produced the demo into a full song which has now amassed over 60 million global streams. He's recently released a new track off his forthcoming debut album later this year.
